Image to Video AI: Turn Any Photo into Cinematic Motion
Complete guide to AI image-to-video animation. How it works, motion presets compared, best use cases, and tips for getting smooth, professional results.
What Is Image to Video AI?
Image to Video AI takes a single still photograph and applies realistic camera motion to create a short video clip. Unlike traditional video that requires filming, AI animation generates the frames between the start and end positions of a virtual camera — creating smooth orbit, zoom, or pan effects. Models like Seedance 2.0 analyze the image depth and composition to produce natural-looking motion.
Three Motion Presets
Gentle Orbit: Virtual camera rotates around the product in a smooth circle. Creates a subtle 3D effect. Best for: individual products with interesting form factors. Slow Push-in (Dolly Zoom): Camera moves forward toward the product, gradually revealing detail. Creates intimacy and focus. Best for: luxury items, close-up product details. Side Pan: Camera sweeps horizontally across the frame. Shows width and context. Best for: wide compositions, multi-item setups, flat lays.
How to Get the Best Results
Use high-quality source images — 1000px+ on the longest side. Choose images with clear subject-background separation. For orbit: center your product with some breathing room around it. For push-in: make sure the product fills at least 40% of the frame. For pan: horizontal compositions work better than vertical. Avoid images with text or watermarks — they will distort during animation.
Resolution Options
Libclip offers 480p (75 cr/s) and 720p (110 cr/s) for image-to-video. Duration: 3-10 seconds. Example costs: 5-second 480p orbit = 375 credits, 5-second 720p push-in = 550 credits. For social media: 480p is usually sufficient and faster to generate. For product pages: 720p gives a more polished look.
